The Digital Media Chapter (DMC) was set up in 2004 to promote and assist in the deployment and adoption of broadband technologies, digital media and entertainment content through strong working relations with government agencies, local trade associations and international organizations.

Digital Distribution Platform
The DMC is working with the IDA and local and foreign players to develop the digital media distribution network to enable digital content like digital cinema, digital images, video and audio content to be transmitted from one point to another securely and to help content owners monetize digital content.
NUS/SITF CREATIVE & MEDIA TECHNOLOGY SHOWCASE
The NUS-SiTF Creative & Media Technology Showcase have help incorporated the inaugural NUS Creative & Media Venturing Forum by NUS Entrepreneurship Centre. In partnership with SiTF Digital Media Chapter and supported by Asian Media Information & Communication Centre, Media Development Authority and Singapore Computer Society, the NUS Creative & Media Venturing Forum is industry-focused and is designed to feature:
DMC/GXA/CCTx/IDA JOINT NETWORKING
A Joint Networking was held for the above chapters / committees which we also invited the representatives from IDA. This Networking was held at CHERVONS and approximately 60 members attended.
DIGITAL MEDIA GRID DEMONSTRATION
Unleashing Digital Creativity. Over the past one and a half year, a team of researchers from Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC), School of Computer Engineering (NTU) and School of Information Systems (SMU) have been working together on the topic ”Digital Media Grid”. The project is supported by Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) of Singapore.
There will be a demonstration on the following:
1. Grid Technology for Maya and Mental Ray.
2. Grid Economics.
3. Scalable Information and Execution Management.
4. Resource Matching.
SITF’s contribution is to enable the participating companies for the GRID event to gain exposure on their services to the attendees from the Digital Media industry and also networking.
