23rd Feb 2010, Asia Green IT Seminar…

On behalf of our co-organiser and the various supporting organizations, we would like to say a big thank you to the audience for their overwhelming support in participation of this afternoon’s Green IT conference at Pan Pacific hotel.

Organisers:

o     Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI)

o     Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA)

o     Singapore infocomm Technology Federation (SITF)

A three-party cooperation, the Asia Green IT seminar was conceptualized, proposed and planned from around April/May 2009 when SITF and JEITA met during the previous Green IT seminar held on World Earth Day.  A friendship has developed and nurtured throughout the months of meetings and discussions, between Japan and Singapore to work out details of the conference.

Ms Teo Lay Lim, Chairperson of Green IT protem chapter, addressed the room-packed audience from a diverse industry, from oil and gas to chemical and M&E organizations.

It was also a pleasure to have Mr Ling Keok Tong, Deputy Director of IDA’s Technology and Planning Group presenting the various initiatives and programs and how the industry could seek government’s support.

Throughout the presentation by our Japanese friends in their native language, the audience was also issued headsets for simultaneous English translation.

Members of SITF were also quick to tap onto the networking opportunities with local and overseas businesses along with the scrumptious foods.
