Posted March 2nd, 2010 by adminSiTF ICT Business Outlook Forum 2010 opened on 2nd March at Suntec Singapore. This annual forum attracted 300 attendees comprised mainly of C-level executives, senior management, policy makers, analysts and product planners.

The theme for this year’s forum “Sustability in a Recovering World” provided the attendees the opportunity to hear different perspectives from our panel of distinguished speakers in terms of economic outlook, technology landscape and other dynamics which could potentially provide opportunities or disrupt their business plan in a changing playing field for ICT companies.

A series of speakers including analysts from renowned research firms – Mckinsey Company and Gartner were invited to present in this year’s forum.

The forum kicked started with a performance by the Urban Drum Crew to symbolize dynamism, energy and vibrancy of Singapore ICT sector.

Mr Lim Seng Kong, Organising Forum Chairman and Honorary Treasurer shared with the audience the SiTF Poll Findings in his welcome speech.

Guest of Honour RADM(NS) Ronnie Tay, CEO of IDA Singapore, addressed the audience on the update on the government initiatives to help grow the ICT sector.

IDA also announced the launch of the National Infocomm Awards at the forum. Award nomination can be submitted at www.nia.com.sg

Mr Driek Desmet from McKinsey & Co set the stage by providing the ICT sector landscape in the current economy.

Mr RJ Sridhar from JAFCO Investment gave insights into the investment considerations of Venture Capitalists and the changing trends for investing into ICT companies over the last three years.

Mr Jeremy Cooper showcased how companies can successfully leverage cloud computing in their business.

The forum finale was the panel discussion session led by moderator Mr Subrato Basu, VP of Research Board (A Gartner Inc. Company). The discussion focused on why ICT technology is popular and how ICT is relevant for businesses. Joined in the panel discussion are Mr Yap Chee Yuen, Senior VP and Head of IT, Resorts World at Sentosa, Mr Kenny Yap, Executive Chairman and Group Managing Director, Qian Hu Corporation and Mr Han Jok Hwang, CIO, Venture Corporation.
